Welcome Message From Pastor Chew
As the Pastor of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Denton, I want our Church to be the Church that Jesus honors. To describe what I am saying I would like to use two phrases from Putting Your Best Foot Forward by James Abrahamson: “Reaching Up” and “Reaching Down”.
As a “Reaching Up” Church we would be a praising and worship centered congregation where people come to sense the presence and glory of God. As a “Reaching Down” Church, we would emphasize the importance of knowing the Word of God. The entire service would build to a powerful teaching sermon. We want every believer to be a minister using their God-given gifts. We are committed to excellence, meaning we settle for nothing less than our personal best in everything we do.
How To Be Saved
A. Acknowledge - and accept the fact that you are a sinner and need to be saved.
Romans 3:23 says; “All have sin and come short of the glory of God.”
B. Believe - Believe that God sent Jesus Christ to die for your sins.
St. John 3:16 says; “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Romans 5:8 says; “But God commendeth His love toward us , in that, while we were yet sinners (Jesus) Christ died for us.” Romans 6:23 says; “For the wages of sin is death; But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
C. Confess - Confess Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Romans 10:9-10&13 says; “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God had raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved for with the heart man believe unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
